Giselle Peters was born in 1980 in Regina, Saskatchewan and raised in the neighboring town of Lumsden since the age of 3. She attended the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, Alberta from 2001-2006 where she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Ceramics.
Her ceramic sculpture worked with both figurative themes as well as on-site installation and used handbuilding techniques with large slabs similar to fabric. After doing ceramic sculpture for two years, she has returned to painting, maintaining the sculptural approach and applying similar concepts of sculpting with fabric to the canvas.
Giselle has exhibited in the Illingworth Kerr Gallery and the Marion Nicoll Gallery in Calgary and the Chagall Gallery and Kamena Gallery in Edmonton and has been part of several group ceramic exhibitions at Red Deer College, Sage Theatre, ACAD and the University of Regina. She was a recipient of the Jason Lang scholarship and a nominee for the Governor General Award in 2006. Giselle now resides in Edmonton, Alberta.
